Part of correcting the problem with racism and unequal policies starts with knowing the history. These resources will provide historical accounts and available tools to rectify the problem. One strategy is to increase diversity in our own profession so that we can better serve our patients. According to the NCCPA 2019 Specialty Report, PAs practicing in Obstetrics and Gynecology are 83.5% white, 5.8% black, 6.2% Asian, 0.4% native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, 0.7% American Indian/Alaska Native, and 3.4% other. Those identifying as Latinx were 7.4% of the total group of obgyn PAs.
