APAOG is proud to share this American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) Practice Parameter for the Performance of Limited Obstetric Ultrasound Examinations by Advanced Practice Providers publication. APAOG Board members Aleece Fosnight, PA-C (President) and Kristen Lohser, PA-C (Vice-President) contributed to this publication on behalf of APAOG.

This practice parameter has been developed for use by women’s health nurse practitioners (WHNPs), physician assistants in obstetrics and gynecology (PAOGs), and certified nurse-midwives (CNMs)/certified midwives (CMs) performing and interpreting limited obstetric ultrasound studies within their scopes of practice.

Also in conjunction with AIUM and APAOG were the following organizations: National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG), and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM).
